"Perfect Style Flex" is the name of the new shooting shoe from Sauer, a logical successor to the "Perfect Style II". It is not without reason that the term "Flex" occurs in the name; in accordance with the requirements of the ISSF which stipulate that the soles of special shooting shoes and boots must be flexible enough to allow for the natural flexing action of the foot when walking and running, the Sauer team has redesigned the structure of the soles of their sports shoes. A flexible strip of supple material in TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) has now been vulcanised into the sole, which previously lacked flexibility, in the area of the ball of the foot (patent pending DPMA). This enables the shoe to follow the natural flexing of the foot during walking and running but returns to its initial position in order to provide a stable, flat surface when the wearer is standing – just the way sports shooters want it and as they have come to expect. The new Sauer "Perfect Style Flex" fulfils all modern sport orthopaedic requirements. The two-part inner soles (which can be ordered separately) enable the shoe to be individually adjusted for height both at the heel and at the forefoot. The perforations at the sides improve the ventilation to the foot. The extra-wide sole surface at the heel gives ideal stability when shooting from a standing position. The firm rubber strip around the shoe body acts as a stabiliser and prevents the shoe from slipping when the wearer is shooting from a kneeling or prone position. In addition, it prevents the shoe from spreading out. The flat shape of the heel and the corresponding cut of the sole guarantees ideal surface contact when shooting from a kneeling position. The inward curving sole guarantees constant contact with the ground even with the new flexible strip of material in the area of the ball of the foot (in order to maintain this property at its best, the use of the Sauer shoe-sole tree is recommended).
